Anne-Carole Magnier est une artiste franco-camerounaise nomade. Née et élevée à Yaoundé (Cameroun), elle puise dans ses racines métissées la matière première d’un travail sensible, puissant et introspectif. Formée aux Ateliers de Sèvres à Paris puis à l’École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, elle développe avant tout sa pratique de façon autodidacte, nourrie par l’expérience du monde et l’écoute de sa mémoire.
Sa démarche explore la peinture, l’encre de Chine, le collage et l’assemblage de matières variées. La lumière y occupe une place centrale : langage, atmosphère, récit. Elle crée des univers oniriques et fantomatiques qui interrogent l’identité, la mémoire et la présence.
Ses œuvres naissent de la porosité entre paysages intérieurs et réalités sensibles. Traversée par le rêve, la mémoire et les silences, Anne-Carole peint comme elle marche : à l’instinct, laissant la couleur ouvrir les chemins. Elle se nourrit de ses errances, de l’exploration de la matière, de l’absence et des territoires. Son atelier est mouvant, comme sa peinture. Toujours en traversée. Chaque œuvre devient un espace suspendu entre le visible et l’intuitif, une respiration lente, une écoute de l’invisible.
Dans ses toiles, les personnages ne sont jamais définis par une couleur de peau. Instinctivement et par conviction, elle leur laisse la teinte de leur support, en écho à leur environnement. Les traces du processus – coups de crayon, ratures, traits effacés – deviennent une force, donnant aux figures une vitalité singulière.
